The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course is part of the series of NRA class courses designed for the public. This follow up class to the NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation is a class with 8 full hours of hands on classroom and range time giving students the know how to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols safely. Topics covered include NRA rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting of fundamentals, range rules, shooting from the bench rest position, two handed standing positions, cleaning the pistol, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students also receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and after passing the basics of pistol shooting exam, a course completion certificate.
