In California there are more than four times as many security officers as there are police officers; it behooves a security officer to seek out professional training. Entry level security officers are required by California to complete an eight hour pre-assignment training course called “Power to Arrest” before being assigned to a post. A newly licensed security officer then has six months to complete an additional 32 hours of training giving them a total of 40 hours. Each unarmed security officer must maintain their license by completing eight hours of training annually.

Some of the course topics are: powers to arrest, weapons of mass destruction and terrorism awareness, public relations, observation and documentation, liability and legal aspects, use of force and effective communications.

Price: $200.00 Includes: state licensing fees, fingerprint processing, and background check.

The ” Power to Arrest” class may be combined with the “Exposed Firearm Permit” for a reduced rate of: $474.00 You can start this class one day and finish another if your schedule requires it.
